Episode Notes
Drama On One presents Creatives in Conversation.
Over the next Seven weeks, we will broadcast interviews from the archives with artists whose creativity has distinguished them as among the best in their chosen discipline.
In September 2002 Maeve Binchy decided to channel her "inner Sinatra" and, after two years of "retirement", she re-emerged to a packed National Concert Hall. In a now classic public interview which Myles Dungan described as "the easiest five bob he ever earned", Maeve held an enthralled audience in the palm of her hand and did what she did best - told stories … wonderful stories, one after another. Tonight we present an excerpt from that interview, and we are delighted to tell you that the full interview, along with Maeve's other radio plays, is available as part of 'The Maeve Binchy Collection', on the Drama On One website.
In the meantime, it's time to warm up the Veal casserole. The excerpt is introduced by Maeve's husband, Gordon Snell.
On Sound was Alex O’Gorman and Kevin Fowley
Producer Kevin Reynolds.
