We continue tonight's Drama On One with Creatives in Conversation, where we broadcast interviews from the archives with artists whose creativity has distinguished them as among the best in their chosen discipline.
Thelma Schoonmaker has won three Academy awards , editing Raging Bull, The Aviatar and The Departed - all films directed by Martin Scorcese. Furthermore, she’s received nominations for Goodfellas, Gangs of New York, Hugo, The Irishman and Woodstock, from1970, her first collaboration with Scorcese. In between there’s been The King of Comedy, The Last Temptation of Christ, Shutter Island, Casino, Cape Fear, Kundun, Silence and most recently Killers of The Flower Moon starring Robert DeNiro and Leonardo Di Caprio, which premiered in May at Cannes
In January 2003, Thelma was invited by Screen Training Ireland to give a masterclass in editing. She talked to Myles Dungan
