Creatives in Conversation - Pat McCabe
Born in Clones in Co Monaghan, Pat McCabe has made his mark on literature with his wonderfully wicked vision and his gift for giving voice to poetic anti-heroes.
His work has been adapted for the big screen, for the stage and for radio.
He's been the winner of the Irish Times/Aer Lingus Literary Prize in 1992
and has twice been shortlisted for the Booker Prize - for The Butcher Boy in 1992 and Breakfast on Pluto in 1998.
In 2003, he was invited to give a Rattlebag Public Interview presented by Myles Dungan at the Pavilion Theatre in Dun Laoghaire. This was to coincide with the publication of his novel Call Me The Breeze. Drama On One will feature an excerpt from the interview - and the complete programme is available via the Drama On One podcast.
