Imagine you could make your own travel documentary. Well, in JourneyCam International Irish children, armed with their own camera, share their exciting voyages of discovery with us.
They explore their own heritage, as well as the cultural and family connections they have in faraway lands.
Tune in to RTÉ2 & RTÉ Player Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 3.25pm.
In this series, young explorers travel to the countries of Poland, India, Cuba, Pakistan, Italy and Czech Republic to reveal what daily life, culture, heritage and traditions are celebrated there.
In the first two episodes we meet twins Ishaan and Vihaan (10) , who go on a journey to explore their Indian heritage. Bringing the JourneyCam along with them to help document their travels, they reunite with family, take a trip on a rickshaw around Mumbai, go shopping for a traditional kurta, and celebrate the Hindu festival of colour – Holi.
In Part 2 of their adventure, they travel on one of India’s famous overnight trains and venture into the Indian countryside. They visit a Hindu Temple, harvest a coconut from a tree and discover how Indians are crazy about cricket.
And here's more about what's in store:
- Zuzanna (11) from Sligo takes the JourneyCam on an adventure to Poland to visit her granny.
- Abu Bakar (10) is heading to Karachi in Pakistan.
- Sisters Babette (10) and Suzel (12 ) are off on a two-part Caribbean adventure to Cuba. First stop, Havana!
And there will be two more episodes coming in 2024!
