A financial support scheme for farmers affected by flooding in the Cooley Peninsula in Co Louth late last year has now opened for applications.
Flooding caused extensive damage to homes, businesses and farms in north Louth between the 29 October and 4 November 2023.
Local Senator Erin McGreehan said she has received confirmation from the Minister for Agriculture Charlie McConaologue that the scheme is open.
She said that the funding measure would ensure the financial burden on farming families who were severely impacted by the flooding "will most definitely be alleviated".
It will go towards costs relating to the restoration of agricultural land, loss or damage to fodder or fertiliser and the repair or replacement of damaged fencing, gateways and lanes.
The closing date for applications for the Cooley Flood Damage Relief scheme is 31 July.
