A man has died following a fire at a residence in Ballina, Co Mayo, this morning.
Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the blaze on Tolan Street at around 8.15am.
Fire services extinguished the fire and made the area safe.
A man was found dead and his body remains at the scene.
A second man was taken to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar for treatment.
Gardaí said that inquiries are ongoing.
