The Tuesday evening racecard at Tramore has been abandoned after heavy overnight rain.

The seven-race card had been due to get underway from 5.10pm but, despite the course passing an earlier inspection, stewards had to eventually admit defeat and cancel the Flat fixture.

A statement from the IHRB read: "Due to deteriorating ground conditions following heavy rain, the fixture at Tramore Races has been cancelled."

Tramore's was the only Irish race fixture for the day, tomorrow sees a seven-race Flat card take place at Fairyhouse, with the opener down for decision at 4.50pm.
