Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone broke her own world record in the 400m hurdles as she won the US Olympic trials in Oregon.
The 24-year-old Olympic champion clocked 50.65 seconds to book her place in Paris, shaving three hundredths of a second off the time she ran to win the 2022 world title on the same track.
She won the race by almost two seconds from Anna Cockrell, who clocked 52.64, and Jasmine Jones, who was third in 52.77.
It is the fifth time McLaughlin-Levrone, who missed last year's World Championships due to a knee injury, has broken the world record.
