Babs is left reeling in Thursday's Fair City on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player.
The drama begins when Jess attends her Family Services interview in the aftermath of baby Taylor's fall.
Later, Babs rings Family Services looking for Jess.
"Dr Sutton, can you tell me when you'll be finished interviewing my daughter?" Babs asks as Victor and Ruby wait anxiously beside her.
"She walked out?" Babs then says incredulously.
