With the weather warming up, our skin needs a bit more love than usual. Keeping it hydrated, plump and protected from the sun is a must, but finding the right products for your skin at the right time can be a challenge.

We're always on the lookout for innovative products that leave our skin healthier and happier, so here's our round up of the best new - and not so new - skincare bits that we're loving.

Seoulista

Inspired by the innovations of the Korean beauty industry, this Irish-owned brand is focused on high-tech products at affordable prices. I've been a big fan of their skin and hair masks for a while but this was my first time trying their skincare and I'm just as impressed.

Being a pale Irish girl, I need all the help I can get when it comes to brightening my complexion, but harsh brightening serums have mostly irritated my skin in the past. Loaded with niacinamide, squalene and bisabolol, a chamomile derivative, Seoulista's Brightening Super Serum (€24) is the most gentle I've tried so far.

After two weeks my skin definitely looks brighter and more radiant, and I'm pretty certain my old acne scars are starting to fade too. The airless pump dispenser that gives you the perfect amount of serum for your face and neck is also extremely satisfying to use.

Byoma

This affordable drug store brand recently went viral on TikTok and with good reason. Its technicolour packaging made it an instant hit for the aesthetic girlies online, but these chic bottles also pack a punch when it comes to their ingredients: Tri-ceramides, which build up the skin barrier, making these products ideal for people with tricky skin.

I've used the Hydrating Serum (€14.60) and the Moisturising Rich Cream (€15.80), both of which I've drained to the last drop and will be buying again. The serum is lightweight, spreads easily and settles well under makeup, while the cream is thick but not heavy or greasy. I use it at night and it feels almost like a very sheer balm on the skin.

After just two weeks of using both I noticed my complexion was more even, plump and glowy - post-holiday skin without the holiday!

Trinny London

If the mass hysteria engulfing Trinny Woodall's recent visit to Dublin to launch her brand is anything to go by, Trinny London is one of the buzziest beauty brands on the market.

Woodall has hit the sweet spot in adaptable, versatile and flattering makeup for all ages, but her skincare is where the entrepreneur's knowledge of beauty, science and design really comes through.

If there's one thing I know my skin loves, it's peptides - the and the Bounce Back moisturiser (€62) is chock full of them. A thick cream loaded with hyaluronic acid and a 4-peptide complex, it's luxurious and nourishing.

It leaves a healthy sheen as though I've massaged my face with an oil, but it feels fresh and clean. There's also a subtle, slightly herby scent that I personally like but mightn't be for everyone.

Nuxe

There's something about investing in a good hair and body oil for summer that makes you feel ready for holidays. During autumn and winter I'm usually wrapped up in three layers and battling with central heating and icy weather, so come summer I look for a body oil to pamper my skin with.

We all know Nuxe's Huile Prodigieuse is a cult favourite, but I recently picked up the Florale Or version (€24.86): a delicate, aromatic scent and the same lightweight, nourishing formula with added shimmer.

I use the multipurpose oil after the shower, and the shimmer is subtle enough to not make my pale skin look like Edward Cullen from Twilight. It also doubles as a perfume as the smell is so divine.

SoSu

In summer, the last thing I want to be doing is wearing a full face of makeup so I've been gravitating back to my tried and true multipurpose makeup staples.

Chief among them is the SoSo Blush On The Go Cream Stick in Glow Pink (on sale for €10.47), a super pigmented blush stick that not only singlehandedly revamps my glam for the day, but will last you years.

A shimmering rose gold shade, this blush melts into the skin, is easily blended on the go and adds a radiance that can save any bad skin day.
