30 years ago, Scotish author Irvine Welsh brought us junkies Renton, Sick Boy, Spud and Begbie in his classic novel Trainspotting.
In Welsh's new novel, Resolution - the final installment in a trilogy of crime novels - his latest anti-hero, Ray Lennox, seems to be getting his life together. He has left the police force, and moved down south to Brighton, he has embraced a healthy lifestyle, got a stress-free job and has a new girlfriend.
The plan is going well until a monster from his past turns up...
