Out & Proud is back on RTÉ Radio 1 for a second season and this time presenter Trevor Keegan is discussing key moments and milestones in life through the LGBTQI+ experience.

This week, from hook-ups to "slowmance" and happily-ever-afters, we're looking at relationships.

Trevor is joined in studio by radio presenter Pádraig Wilson-McCarthy, psychotherapist, sex and relationships counsellor Paul O'Beirne and newlyweds Síona Cahill and Sarah-Elaine McHugh.

The programme kicks off with a chat about the apps and how hook-up culture maybe starting to give way to slowmance.

Then Paul discusses how LGBTQI+ couples have a freedom from heteronormative expectations in some ways, but really any relationship style still has to exist within society’s narrow definition of relationships.

Paul has advice for people considering opening-up their relationships and shares reflections on the role the LGBTQI+ community are playing in laying down a new blueprint of relationships for everyone.

Finally Síona and Sarah-Elaine share their experience of married life – what they love about it, the parts of the institution they push against and how they plan on strengthening their relationship as the years pass.
