Ahead of her performance at the University of Limerick's 50th anniversary celebration, Rhiannon Giddens talks to Marty Whelan on RTÉ lyric fm about her multifaceted career - listen above.

From her early acclaimed work with Carolina Chocolate Drops to her recent collaborations with partner Francesco Turrisi, the Carolina-born Irish-based artist is in the midst of a busy year, with the publication of her first book, the world premieres of new ballet and opera projects and a new role as Artistic Director of musical collective Silkroad Ensemble - she's also the artist-in-residence at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at University Of Limerick (UL)!
