Presented by Conor Pope, The Irish Times consumer affairs correspondent, and Santis O'Garro, Instagram budgeting mentor, The Price of Everything is a brand new 6 part consumer series on RTÉ One that will delve into the rising costs of living in Ireland in 2022.

From record breaking fuel increases to spiraling energy bills, the cost of living in Ireland has never been higher. Over the last year inflation has been on the rise and consumers have witnessed everything from the price of the weekly shop to the cost of heating their homes increase … if not skyrocket, with price pressures now exacerbated by the Russian invasion and war on Ukraine.

Each week Conor and Santis will focus their attention on one topic; from Food to Transport, from Housing to Education, from Energy to the price of Insuring our Health and how the costs of these basic necessities are rising beyond all our expectations.

Throughout the series they will chart how these costs are affecting individuals across the country, who or what is to blame and whether there is anything we, as consumers, can do to stem the tide?

In the opening programme, Conor and Santis learn how the cost of our weekly shop is being stretched, causing some people to struggle just to put food on the table.

Santis meets single mother Sally who is having to cut back on other aspects of her life to ensure she can feed her three children, while Conor travels to a busy foodbank and discovers how more and more people are now relying on its services than ever before.
