A motorcyclist in his 20s has died following a single vehicle collision in Co Dublin yesterday.

The incident happened on the Old North Road in Finglas shortly after 2pm.

The road has since reopened following a forensic examination. A post-mortem is also due to take place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.

108 people have died on Irish roads this year, an increase of 17 at the same time last year, according to figures from gardaí.

They are asking if any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make it available to them.
