As well as being a popular spot for celebrities like Nick Jonas, Jamie Fox and Will Ferrell, Rosa Madre in Temple Bar can add another feather to its cap, as it is included in Wine Spectator's list of best restaurants for wine*.
The beloved Italian eatery has been added to the publication's 3,700-strong list of must-visit restaurants for wine lovers as part of its 2024 Restaurant Awards, a list that has been running for over 40 years.
According to the website, the ranking is "designed to elevate wine selection and service around the world and encourage strong programs that complement a variety of cuisines, settings and prices".

Winning restaurants must meet certain criteria, including having more than 90 wines on offer, information on sommeliers, cuisine type and more.
Rosa Madre is only the eighth Irish restaurant to be added, alongside The Oak Room in Adare Manor, Co Limerick, 64 Wine in Dublin's Glasthule, the George V Room in Ashford Castle, Co Mayo and more.
Located in the middle of Temple Bar, Rosa Madre specialises in fresh fish, which is delivered daily by local suppliers. Seasonal produce is also celebrated, with specials running throughout the year.
However, the restaurant is particularly known for its hefty cellar, which allegedly lured even Dave Grohl and Nate Mendel of the Foo Fighters in for a gawk. It's not surprising, given the sheer amount of bottles that line the dining room.
Among their impressive wine menu is a Chateau Cheval Blanc St Emillion, which will set you back a cool €2,500 for 1.5l, though there are plenty of other wines at all price points for all sorts of diners.
